Human and Social Development

The social inequality that exists between the neighborhoods of Embu das Artes and Cotia and the precarious urban infrastructure of this territory directly impact the human development of the region.

In 2023, Acorde's social service provided support to 221 families.

This work strengthened the care provided to children and adolescents through dialogue and monitoring of families, building bridges with the social assistance network of the Municipalities of Embu das Artes and Cotia.

Services are provided on an individual basis, always involving educators, social workers, family members and other institutions relevant to each case.

We are in a region that encompasses eight neighborhoods on the border between Embu das Artes and Cotia, where almost 7,000 people live.

This is yet another region of the state that reveals the inequality we experience.

We have high-standard condominiums interspersed with industrial plants and entire neighborhoods with poor urban infrastructure, households with low per capita income and very restricted access to public services and cultural and leisure spaces.

There are three schools, a CRAS (Social Assistance Reference Center), a UBS (Basic Health Unit) and two Social Organizations, in addition to Acorde.

Local development is a vast field of possibilities where Acorde still wants to improve and greatly expand its activities in order to increasingly strengthen families, promote community ties, mobilization and social participation.
